How to know if someone else is viewing your WhatsApp messages

This post is inspired by conversations I had with two people recently. Someone called me and asked me to assist in “hacking” a phone number so this person could ‘read’ the WhatsApp messages of the phone number in question. I told this person that WhatsApp chats were difficult to hack.

On the other hand, another person told me of how the person’s WhatsApp was ‘hacked’ and the individual was reading messages and this was only noticed months after. We have therefore decided to show you how to check if someone else is snooping in on your conversations.

First off, let me state that WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted meaning that messages you send out are difficult to read elsewhere. There are still ways by which one can mirror your chats and be viewing them elsewhere. It is important we keep our phones close to us and locked so as to reduce the chances of being snooped on.

For some of us who are mostly on our PCs, we tend to mirror our phones on our PC so we can monitor messages without having to pick up the phone.

How to mirror your phone on your PC

  • To achieve this you need an active internet connection on both your phone and your PC
  • On the phone go to WhatsApp =>Settings=>WhatsApp Web

  • A barcode will be displayed for you to scan with your phone after which you will be able to view your chats on the PC.

You can now use your WhatsApp on your PC.

Now, Who's snooping Around?

Now that we know how to mirror our WhatsApp, it is also possible that while we were not looking someone may have mirrored our WhatsApp on the web so you can check that out and log out by;

Go to WhatsApp =>Settings=>WhatsApp Web

Check if there are any active WhatsApp web sessions if there is any you don’t recognize you can log out of them and be safe.

+

If you must use a shared PC  such as those in an office or a cybercafe always remember to log out. Also, remember to untick the "keep me signed in" box when you are signing in.

If we observe these measures, it will help us stay safe and keep our conversations private as much as possible.

Music on the go: Where to download and access music online free and legal

Music on the go! For most of us, music performs a major role in our lives. It’s not just to entertain us which seems to be the primary purpose of music. It also helps to calm, soothe, console, inspire and so much more. Music has also been known to be used as a propaganda tool and as such has been used for both negative and positive campaigns. For me as a person, music helps to relax and also inspire me: you can call music my muse. When I am working on a project and I need inspiration, music comes in very handy, and I am sure it functions just as effective for most people. I listen to music all the time especially when I am on the go or in transit. This article is not an article about the various genres of music or about music producers, but it is inspired by a major question I have been asked by people who want a reliable source to get music especially on the go. As you know, our devices don’t come with music pre-loaded. Where and how do we get music into o...

Android is better than the others!

Better than others? Last time we talked about some important things to consider on the choice of your next phone. One of the things we talked about was the OS. We will now consider one of the most used OSes in the world and what makes it better than others. Android is an open-source OS owned by Google, which is present in over 2.5 billion active devices in the world. Its many accessible attributes make it a fan favourite with smartphone users. What are these attributes that make it more preferable to other OSes including its main rival Apple's iOS, and why should you choose an Android phone over an iOS phone? Here are some reasons. 1. Ease of Customization . You can rearrange your home screen, set a picture as the background, choose what app stays on what page, and all that.
